Roslindale Shop
Welcome to The Centerpiece Flower Shop!
I am Ángel Díaz, the owner and principal designer, and this unique floral design and lifestyle shop is truly my American dream. Originally from Venezuela, I was raised by my mother and grandmother in Caracas. Often, when my mom was working, my grandmother would bring me out to her garden to teach me all of the different plants and flowers, and how to lovingly care for each of them. She especially loved orchids, and I am always reminded of my time with her whenever I'm putting together an arrangement that includes them.
Living abroad as a student in London and later in Dublin, I learned English and was able to travel and to practice my skills as a photographer. Photography has always been a creative outlet for me and it has been a great way to see the world in new ways. While in London I met my future husband, a teacher and native of West Roxbury. I never imagined that my life's path would have taken me from there to Boston, but you can never predict what the future holds!
I opened The Centerpiece in February 2020, just a week before Valentine’s Day. It was almost 1 year to the day I received my US citizenship, and I always see this business as tightly connected to my journey here as a new American. I was so fortunate to have opened my shop in such a supportive community here in the Parkway neighborhood of Boston - I’m here thanks to my wonderful customers. Just a couple years after opening, I was named the “Best of Boston” floral shop in the city by Boston Magazine. And just a year after that I opened our showroom space in Roslindale Square, growing the team and adding this second location.
In Roslindale, I’ve been able to create a community space within the shop - We host Artist Residencies, floral design and terrarium-building workshops, plant swaps, open houses, and much more! I want my shop to be a place where people are inspired - by plants, flowers, my love of design and creating the perfect gathering place to bring people together.
It all still feels like an amazing dream come true!
When customers order floral arrangements, hand-tied bouquets, dish gardens, or gifts from The Centerpiece, I view it as an act of faith and trust. I work everyday to create unique, stylish, and stunning displays of the freshest blooms. I want the recipient to see how much work and care has gone into each arrangement. Each piece is a chance for me to show the beauty and natural artistry in flowers -I hope they brighten any place you have them
~ That's why our motto is ‘Elevate Your Space.’
My most meaningful creations aren't just about simple floral arrangements, but are statements of love and affection. I'm always moved when a family trusts me to create beautiful displays for birthdays, Mother's Day, or as a tender farewell for a loved one's funeral service. One of the reasons I love working with flowers is that they are such a vivid reminder of the beauty in the world around us, and that we should live fully in the present moment. Before she passed away, my grandmother lived to be almost 90 years old back home in Venezuela. She loved hearing about my work, this shop, and seeing images of the designs I prepare for my customers. If you look closely, you’ll see I keep her photo in my shop, with a small display of flowers next to it. It’s a reminder that for me - for us - flowers are so much more than beautiful objects. They reflect the beauty of the connections we have with those we love.

We are open on Mother's Day (always a Sunday) and maintain extended hours during Valentine's Day Week, and Mother's Day Week. We are closed during the following six national holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day (July 4), Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas and Valentine’s Day periods During the busy floral weeks of Christmas and Valentine's Day we advise customers to place orders early to receive the best possible selection and service. We do our best to accommodate same day delivery requests during these busy times, however, we cannot guarantee every last minute order due to sheer volumes. We strongly recommend that customers place orders two days prior to each major holiday.
Speciality gift items that are non-perishable may be returned for any reason, for a full refund (within 7 days of receipt of the item) provided the items are returned unopened with the original packing materials and documentation.
Please note that we can refund shipping fees only if the return is a result of our error. Otherwise, you will receive a full refund for the cost of the speciality gift item, but the original and return shipping fee will not be refunded. To return an item, please call us at 617-323-6262.
We'll notify you via e-mail of your refund once we have received and processed the returned gift item. You can expect a refund, in the same form of payment originally used for the purchase, within seven to fourteen days of our receiving your return.
Occasionally, substitutions may be necessary to create your bouquet due to the availability of certain flowers in various parts of the country. Care is taken to maintain the style, theme and color scheme of the arrangement, using flowers of equal value. Additionally, the substitution of certain keepsake items may be necessary due to increased demand, especially during major holidays. In single-flower arrangements, such as an all rose bouquet, or orchids, we will make every attempt to match the flower type but may substitute with another color.
